    My (S/X Runner) rides.

I figured I'd log my rides from now on (only started riding a few weeks ago).

So here is where I will keep track of them.

I've yet to ride with other people but will soon and will document the ride and give recognition.

I started logging my rides on 7/14/2011

My first "real" ride was on 7/9/2011 (not logged). But I made a manual map...

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...&z=14&lci=bike

It was up Mill Creek Rd. and down Dry Creek Trail. Some of the worst pain I have ever felt and seriously thought I was go pass out because of the lungs burning and the legs feeling like Jello.

    7/14/2011

    Up Grimmer to Mission
Pretty good ride up Grimmer. It gets pretty steep. Then on to Mission where it definitely gets steep and the legs really start burning.

    7/15/2011
I've been riding to work every day. It's only 2.7 miles one way but very early in the morning and feels like 5 miles (or just being a super noob, it feels like 5 miles, lol!!)

After work I went up Grimmer to Mission again with a different app...

    7/17/2011
I tried Mill Creek road once again. How soon I forgot what a horrible (hard) climb it is. I uterally failed just like last time. I had to dismount and walk my bike a good part of the way. Both times I went up I had seen people coming down. I wonder to myself if these guys are riding all the way up without dismounting. If they are, congrats! This F'ing climb is just flat out brutal!!

    7/18/2011
    Rode to work...

After work I took a ride out to Ardenwood Blvd where it meets Union City Blvd from Stevenson Blvd and hopped on the Alameda Creek trail. It was a pretty good ride. There are some small climbs along the way that got my legs and lungs burning real good.

You need to log it on a gps and strava. All the cool kids are on it.

Yep, it's a free app on the iphone and it works well as long as you charge up your phone battery.

You get 5 free uploads/month to strava with the free account.

The key to Strava is your ride gets broken up automatically to segments and they are all timed and compared if you want.

Sounds good. I downloaded it but have yet to use it.

5 a month? I'll have to look into getting the "full" version.

Keep up the good work, dude! Your efforts help our MTBR.com Strava team get the monthly footies in… which equates to KEG PARTY!!!

If you’re ever in the South San Jose area, we’ll (plenty of us around these parts) be more than happy to show you around the terrain at Santa Teresa County Park. In fact, we’re planning on a semi-organised meeting the morning of Saturday 27th August 2011 @ 9:00AMish. I’ll make a post about the ride around the beginning of next week.

I am curious, have you got any “totally awesome dude” GPS stats to thrill us all with?

Right on. I'm down to get shown around those parts. I need a bit more stamina, but It will come.
    Thanks bro.

    Dude.
Right you are, instead, there are just flaming TROLLS who post negative sh¡t trying to ruin the fun of others rather than to just let things be. Nice work, now go get on your bike and do a 5,000+ foot climb in under 3.5 hours. It’s easy to do, as you already know.

“Thrilling” exists within the mind of the bethrillder, or something along those lines. That’s what I tried to tell myself five days in a row back in March 2011, but that didn’t stop me. Five 5,000+ foot climbs, back to back.

Well, if you insist, check out my March 2011 rides:

    Climbing Competition | Strava

I don’t recommend riding this much. I found myself with LOTS of free time, and I decided it was a good idea at the time to ride every day, rain or shine. I’ve been unemployed for some time now (2 years), but have some work finally, just a little bit though.
