    Mountain Biking around Chico ??

Lived in Chico for years, however, I was not into MTB'n at the time. Know about most of the trails around Bidwell park (north rim, ect...) Just wandering what the other options look like around the area (within 50 mi)

Normally, I ride Auburn, Tahoe and Granite Bay and consider myself an advanced intermediate rider and have a good trail bike that can handle anything I need to throw at it

Bidwell is gonna be your best bet, as anything within 30 miles won't hold a candle to the riding you can do in that park. When I lived in Chico I found some trails around Lake Oroville but they were nothing special. You could try Reading but it's more than 30 miles away. Unless someone else knows something I don't, it's all about Bidwell. Good luck!

Without googling how far from Chico proper but I will say you're close enuff to head east over to ride The Ranch and Southside Trail over in Susanville!

You can also try the Yana Trail on the riverbend lands at Red Bluff. They are BLM lands and there is some interesting but not too tough riding around bend ferry. The Yana trail itself has some technical rocky sections.

Also Lower Deer Creek off Hwy 32.
I have heard of people riding in the High Lakes area. Haven't ridden that area myself so I cannot vouch one way or another. 4wd roads, polished granite and small tarn lakes.
So many trails... so little time...
