Here is the John Nicholas Trail report. I think he parked up Black Road and climbed the road to 35 and descended JNT.

"Upper section of the trail was fine but the last half mile involved more walking and carrying the bike than actual riding. Erosion, landslides, and huge fallen trees changed an easy fire road exit into an obstacle course."

Sounds like it could be a decent descent down JNT and then climb back up the same way.

That would be the way to go indeed. But have to drive up Black Road, not highway 9.

That's a lot of effort though for that fun beginner trail.

JN: Does this mean it is open? Or ride at your own risk?
I'm not sure how this works.

The "Saturday morning window" apparently didn't exist at Skeggs. 2hr mud ride.

Anyway, question - if I were to ride my bike into Arastradero AFTER sunrise but before the gates open at 8AM, what are my odds of getting yelled at or getting cited?

Trying to figure out a way to ride before work. I live reasonably close to Arastradero but I'd like to get to work at a reasonable time, so I want to ride starting 6-7AM when there's a bit more light.

Not sure what I was smoking this morning but, there was no sunshine here today. In fact, it's been sprinkling off and on all day

You'll be fine. I've done this plenty of times (often cut through Arastradero on my way to work, or do some loops on the CX bike for an early workout) and have never been hassled. But if you want to maintain a lower profile just stay on the upper trails (Woodrat, Meadowlark, Bowl, etc.).

I actually didn't clear any of the big trees... that's someone else's handiwork. There are still a few big branchy trees down between MIAD and NYC. All have walk arounds, but with budding PO. Sloppy sections are firming up and need more tires to smooth them out. Otherwise, it's just beautiful out there!

Went to the Guerilla Gravity demo event at skeggs today. Tried out two different bikes, the pedalhead and the trail pistol. Really awesome bikes and a the trails were pretty good as well.

How do you sleep at night?!
Friends don't let friends ride e-"bikes" on dirt.

Drove up to Skyline yesterday, everything is riding fantastic right now aside from Tuteur, which is closed. Also, got my first tick of the year, a gnarly little bastard!
