Mon-Thurs Weekly Ride Report: March 20-23

Looks like more rain is on the way. There will be windows of opportunity between storms to get out to your local trails. Let's see some pics.

Got in a pre-office spin in LG this morning. Cleared all but the last few yards/feet of Dogmeat.

Just mailed off several items to Fox for service. Hopefully I'll get it back around the time the next weather system ends.

Bummer man! At least you are in better shape this year. I was on the other side trying in vain for a sub 40. Not happening but there is still time for the both of us! Skyline

Got a little wet on the way back. The rocks in Napa get a little slicker than what we're used to around here and SC. All good though if you just let the bike slide around a little bit.

I was up in Briones on the ridges Monday morning...dry trails, with tons of cow patties of various vintages, cows all over the place, and the normal trail damage from the combo of rain and bovines....But still nice to be up there in March. I was hoping to get back there today, but we got more rain than I was expecting so I'll stay off.

Actually, the preferred term is bovintages or bovarietals.

I got an hour ride in. Got a sinus headache like a mutha since temp was changing a lot in the hills.

I kinda like this 'rain at night' program.

Rain at night, sun all day...keeps everybody happy and the trails look like Tennessee.

Got a short and sweet ride in SF in. Twin Peaks + Sutro for ~3 miles of single track. Love the hills in SF - 8.7 miles total distance, and 1,600'.

    AND SO MUCH GREEN.

^^ I'd say you've got a good 7 hours to hit it before the next storm!

BTW I'm curious - that looks really steep, but which is a bigger pucker factor? - riding something like that, or a super steep granite on a bike? Or is it apples & oranges?

It's pretty well known that skiing is rather tame compared to mountain biking. Snow is soft and pillowy so any mishap is usually inconsequential. Also, steepness in skiing is super easy to over come with ski poles and 'edging' (Google it...I can send a video on this if it helps).
I'm not sure how this works.
