While Mike and I are just having a little fun with each other, the point remains that rescue is expensive! So check your coverage and get a membership with the appropriate air rescue outfit.

I should add that Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) CORE members get a big discount with Care Flight. $30 per family per year rather than $55. Care flight is a great sponsor and supporter of the Downiville Classic Race and trails in Plumas and Sierra Counties.

    Good 411.

I remember helping the local Downieville volunteer Search and Rescue pulley hoist a young lad that fell down a steep grade on 1st Divide. Wow, he was lucky he lived since he couldve easily got impaled on the rocks jetting out from the shoreline. Needless to say I now longer ride solo there.

Now with this issue of airlifting, I need to look into the coverage also if Im not covered.

Anyone want to point me to how I can change a thread title for a thread I started? As pointed out earlier in this thread, "Life Flight" is a different provider than what is discussed here and I would like to correct the title. It's not obvious to me how I would do it, and my previous attempt just changed the title of my post, not the thread.

Do I need a moderator to do it?

Any idea what it takes to become a "group" that get's discounted pricing?
