Thursday Night Ride
OK, What say we meet at the parking lot across from Greenline Cycle.
Let say we take a ride out to the bottom of the Dam back out by said way of Gray's Crossing and see what's said about going up and over Sycamore and back to the parking lot. What say it might be a longer and say a little tougher, but what else you going to do on a Thursday night. What watch football, you'll be able to catch the last quarter that's all that counts anyway.
So with all that said, Meet at 6:00pm Thursday across from Greenline Cycle.

Trail Boss Jim P. will be meeting at 8:00am Sat. at The Dam for a ride out to North Fork, he says "For a nice easy ride" What if John Skid goes?
hah!
I'll be there to see that happen

I've got a houseboat at the Bidwell Marina and was considering bringing my mountain bike next time I go up there to the houseboat. Can anyone recommend some good trails I could hit up either from the Bidwell marina parking lot or the loafer creek boat ramp. Those are the two places I could have the shuttle drop me off at. Thanks

Yea, just head over the hill to the far side of the dam... Trails are marked but the full stuff is here: (edit, fail... I can't like to strava map areas)
Strava Segment | Bloomer Point Out and Back
Strava Segment | Dead Cow Trail - Downhill
Strava Segment | Potters Ravine loop
I'll be out there Saturday rain or shine

Thanks for the info. This may be a dumb question but what would be the easiest way to get from the Bidwell Marina to the far side of the dam, I have never gone that route before.
Also, if i were to have the shuttle drop me off at the Loafer Creek ramp is there anyway I could ride over to Feather Falls or would that not be possible, Thanks for your help. I'll have to do a ride with you guys.

Peter, do you mean the actual falls or the casino? Either way is a road ride.
Bidwell Canyon trail runs from Loafer Creek to the Dam.
LOBO has good maps of local trails, see my signature.
Also the North Fork trail goes all the way out to Bloomer Boat-in Campground, you could have the boat meet you there for lunch!
Maybe you could talk Mike 157 into a lift to the falls if those trails are not snowed in?

Thanks for the link. I was wondering if it would be possible to ride either from the Bidwell Marina or Loafer Creek boat ramp all the way to the falls. If I have to ride part of the way to the falls that would be okay.

MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map
18 miles of asphalt from Loafer Creek to the Feather Falls trailhead.
Map goes to the community of Feather Falls, you turn left just before to get to trailhead.

Thanks for the info. Seems like I can catch the Bidwell trail right by the bidwell canyon lauch ramp and ride all the way to Potters Ravinevia the north trail. How would get from the end of the north trail at Potters Ravine to the Bloomer boat-in camground. Does the north trail continue all the way there. it does not show that portion on the map. Thanks again.

Sorry to take you guys off topic, but what is the car break-in probabilty at Feather Falls TH these days? The rumor mill in Truckee said that it was bad, but I was wondering if that is correct?
Thanks,
John
PS if it is bad is it bad at certain times/days?

I'm a local ,been there many times, never had my stuff messed with. However I have heard of break ins so I avoid parking at the trailhead opting to park up the road near the tree farm. The weekends are safer due to more peps there ,but I ride during the week so thats why I park up the road, plus it adds a couple extra miles of fun.

The North Fork trail will take you all the way to Bloomers... about 9 or 10 miles one way I believe. Its pretty well marked, with milelage signs every mile or half mile.

Our maps could use some updating!!
There is also a new section of the Potter's trail that connects from the Potter's Point trailhead to the Northfork trail that follows the shoreline.
Have to see if I can find new maps!
