I forgot how hot Santa Teresa Park is

Holy crap. Went riding out there yesterday around lunch time. Glad I filled my Camelbak to the brim. I used it all up.

LOL. Yeah, but that WAS probably the hottest day of the year so far out there....(Besides maybe Sunday??) It has been cool and with mostly dry trails almost every day since New Years Day. Santa Teresa is such a key MTB spot to have around!

The nice thing is that there are a few water spigots to replenish your water supply around near the covered picnic table area. When I ride there, I generally only bring one water bottle (I ride from my house 8 miles away to the Stile Ranch Trail trailhead), and then do an “up and over” to the Bernal side and then back up to the parking lot to refill my water bottle, then a nice up and down Rocky Ridge… and then another… refill, do a couple repeats of going up Boundary Climb, refill once again, and then back up and over (in reverse) Stile Ranch from the bridge to the Fortini junction and parking lot. But yes, it can get hot as a fothermucker out there, especially on the fully exposed side of Stile Ranch Trail.

I've been riding as late as possible before the sun goes down and before I have to get in my monkey suit to see clients.

We need a real good rain to cement those damn golf balls sized rocks into the clay. I am losing traction like crazy on climbs and descends. Front wheel slide madness!

I forgot how hot Santa Teresa Park is

I filled up at a water spigot across from where TSP usually fills up-by the small parking lot across the grass field-anyways water smelled like straight up oil-of course being thirsty tried a sip and was nasty-just tossed it-not sure if someone messed with the spigot or what-but really fxxced up if someone did-

I drank out of that one too. It was pretty nasty, but seems like we both survived. If I see a ranger out there, I'll ask about it.

Yeah I was on a recovery ride after having food poisoning, took a sip on top of Rocky Ridge and was like-damn not again! Didn't want to get sick again-maybe they changed the spigot and used oil on the treads?

I forgot how hot Santa Teresa Park is

Stopped there today by accident. Decided it was too late to drive to Coe.

They apparently had some demo day today (and tomorrow) - intense, ibis, yeti, specialized. $40 for the privilege. That was cool, tried several bikes.

But that was very hot indeed.
