How to convince Mrs. CHUM that a 2 week Whistler trip is a good idea...

    Halp!

many of you know I have 2 little kidlets (1 and 3). Mrs. CHUM gets to deal with the devilspawn all day.

I am a clearly a selfish bastid and would like advice convincing my better (smarter) half that me romping around Canada is a good idea....for 2 weeks.

watching 2 kids for 2 weeks by yourself can't be that hard right?

I got nothing. Let me know if you come up with something though as I'd like to try it as well.

Dude, you are on your own on this one. All I can say is that it is going to cost more than a foot rub. Good luck; may the force be with you.

I have an idea. Quid pro quo.

Do the same and let her go sit on a beach for 2 weeks with her friends while you suffer.

    either that or...

be her love slave for a month.

Chum, you're brilliant. Please summarize responses and send to me.

I've got a head start on you though. Wife just took off for 5 days with her friends and left me with the 2 kids, and my boy just turned 2 (I think his horns are starting to come in.)

Wait for another 18-22 years, hope the kids are out of the house (and haven't left you with any of theirs), then take the trip with her.

....Inspired by events that are way, way, too real....

Not sure what Fe's preference is as far as jewelery but start calling these places:

Yelp | Search Businesses In Scotts Valley

And you know better than to draw on kids faces

That is hardly tit-for-tat; chicks always see the love slave as a prize for the guy. It is a hard-wiring thing.

    You could always....

Make it a family trip and all of you go? Lots of nice stuff for families up there, even non-cycling stuff, believe it or not...

If that were my body I'd consider that a mighty fine upgrade. I'm no biker fox, but maybe I can get some hair extensions and short-shorts to approximate.

[Seriously, flip to page 38. From Cheap Thrills Trail. The previous page was also on the same ride and the chick rider in that shot went OTB on the landing.... and the article is about riding safety. Ironic.]

Make her some delicious pancakes. When she is lost in tasty breakfasty bliss, ask. She won't even know what she's saying yes to. Be sure to remember the blueberries!

Be sure to record it, so later when she says, "I didn't agree to THAT!" you have proof.

    2 ideas:

    1. Simply leave in the middle of the night, without telling her or saying anything to anyone. Call her when you're out of the state, tell her you got lost and you'll be home in a few weeks.

    2. Pull rank as SuperModerator and tell her that you have to go, as part of your moderating duties for this site.

**Note: I'm not responsible for anything that happens as a result of taking my advice. I give advice like this so I don't have to follow it myself.
I've made some bad decisions like taking the gears off my bike. So here's the warning: Do not as I say, nor as I do.

    C:

First thing you want to make sure is that the kids educational fund is up to date. You don't want to be spending their future college tuition on a mtb vacation. If that is all taken care of maybe take your wife along and switch off each day of riding.

My wife goes on all mtb vacations with me and it is a blast having her along.

It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Also, if you try it you may never have (get) to watch the kids again
