    Is Highway 9 still closed?

Was hoping to ride Saratoga Gap (please no more Arastadero) this Saturday morning. Last time I tried going up there, the highway was closed at the top (no indication when coming from Stevens Canyon), so I ended up riding the Canyon Trail, which was also a disaster.

Is 9 open now? If so, is Saratoga Gap rideable?

Nothing about it on the CHP website, so I would guess it is open.

Great, thanks. Hopefully it is. If it isn't, maybe I'll just park on the side of the road and ride up from there. *shrug*

Just FYI--Peters Creek, Longridge and Chestnut all show closed according to the Mid Penn website on the Gap--usually happens until it drys out substantially

Oh, good to know. Long Ridge is kind of a necessary part of my loop for it not to be lame, so I guess I'll go somewhere else then. Sigh.

I don't know how accurate this Santa Clara Count page is but it is titled

And the publishing date seems to be "Published on: 3/1/2017 2:33 PM".

The problem is that we need the same type of definitive list, but for the roads that are not maintained by the county.

Does anyone know where that list might be?

Anybody know if you can get to Golf Club Dr. in SC (just after the Hwy 9 closure)? And can you ride your bike up 9 to Rincon? Thanks.
Friends don't let friends ride e-"bikes" on dirt.

Nature is not a sidewalk (I'm looking at you, MidPen).

Check out rincon parking lot as you ride by, there is a crazy amount of dirt in it right now.

Yes, you can ride to Golf Club Dr. I'm pretty sure you can ride all the way to Rincon, but I haven't tried it lately.

So are the ucsc trails accessible and in good shape? Or not worth riding?

I think you're right. We parked at Golf Club, then pedaled up 9 to the fireroad that goes up to the Rincon trail.

Any updates on this? Hoping to go ride the gap today, coming up from Saratoga. Hard to tell if I can get to the 35 lot or not.

Great, thanks. Rode their yesterday, though the Peters Creek loop was still closed for some reason, and a ranger was hiding the bushes giving speeding tickets and trying to catch poachers. What a weird area we live in.

    Ranger hiding in the bushes...

giving $400 tickets for going over 15 mph. Our world is broken.

Just fyi, this thread is really referring to Highway 9 in Santa Cruz, beside Highway 1, connecting to Felton. That road is CLOSED.

As far as the other end of Highway 9, from Saratoga to Skyline blvd to access Saratoga Gap, that is now open.
