HEADS UP, CCCX XC race 1 date change. ROLLCALL

A fellow Quadzillian just noticed the CCCX XC race 1 has moved to this Saturday 1/26 and not Sunday 1/27 as previously scheduled. About Us

Well that just sucks! I am going to have to skip this race as I will be preparing pancakes for 17 girls sleeping over at my house that Friday night! These are 8-9 year olds, not a harem! Was planning on trying to race my first Cat 1 and getting destroyed properly! This is just CCCX and unfortunately it happens. Hope all the rest f you can make it. I will be there in spirit!

So is this the roll-call thread?

Yeah I'll be there. Going to let everyone start off real quick and then gradually catch you all one by one with a demoralizing "on your left", on route to finishing 2nd to last once again.

Still riding the ol Niner air9 carbon but the CCCX trails really kinda beat you up on a hardtail.

Yeah, I'm a little ticked at the last minute schedule change. I was really prepped for that day. Oh, well. Come as you are.

Unfortunately, this is the way CCCX is. Last year was a wild ride of last minute changes. I got in the habit of checking the website almost daily through the season and daily in the days leading up to a race. Always check the date and location as both can and do change. On the upside, if you are racing the whole series they throw out a couple races for the series standings. Last year three races got tossed so missing a race isn't the end of the world.

Won't be able to make this one (bike issues) but looking forward to racing 35-44 cat 2 again.

By the way, did anybody get the green jersey in the mail from the last race of last season? Still waiting for mine (sport single speed).

Second to last huh? I'm going to do my best, which isn't much, to keep you from passing me. You have DFL in your future!

no, I think both demo trailwork and CCCX are on the 1/26. I was considering trying a race, but I'm no shape to race anyways

Would have been there had it been on Sunday, unfortunately can't make it Saturday. Good luck everyone! Hopefully see you at the next one.

    They are optimizing for snowjnky...

I'll contemplate going since the wife is busy, but a late night Friday makes getting to Ord at such early hours (even 11!) less appealing

Thanks for the update. Iíll still be there. Kind of throws off my training ride schedule for this week, as I had planned on riding Wednesday and doing a mini-ride on Friday. Guess Iíll have to settle for just Wednesday.

Do your Friday ride - just go easy. For a Saturday race I think hard on Wednesday, easy/off on Thursday, and on Friday, medium short (60-90 min) mostly easy with a few short (under a minute) hard efforts is the way to go.

Yeah, I did easy/interval bursts yesterday. Today off or easy (depending how I feel), tomorrow - easy, Friday - short with some bursts at the beginning, then spin the rest of the ride.

This is the most geeky I've ever been for race prep - I even lost 15lbs with diet.

Good tips Gideon. Still finding it difficult to get riding time in after work but last night I got a couple short hill intervals in at Coyote Hills, mimicking the type of short climbs at CCCX.

Looks like rain today but tomorrow going to try and replicate that and then take Friday off.

Still have some pain on the right side from a crash during the TBF race!

Looks like all the dates are changed to Saturday. This will probably be the only CCCX race I enter - which makes me second guess if I should even go tomorrow.
