Group ride and potluck, Cool CA, Sat., March 24

    Saturday, March 24
Meet at 9 AM, ride starts at 9:30
Parking lot next to El Dorado County Fire District - Station 72, 7200 St Florian Ct, Cool, CA 95614

Bring some $ for parking, recommend carpooling due to small lot
We'll need some tables for the potluck
I'll bring some smoked pork for tacos
Mixed use trail, watch out for horses and hikers

Route is the same as Cool MTB Race. I'll lead the no-drop ride. 10 miles, 1,200 ft.

Note that there is a brewery (Cool Beerworks https://www.cbwbeer.com/ ) within walking distance from the parking lot. I can bring two tables.
    See you there!

    Multiple fancy campgrounds nearby https://www.google.com/search?q=camp...hrome&ie=UTF-8

I don't know when Peninsula campground opens but it's another local option https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1352

Yes, that would qualify as closer, wasn't sure if ASRA allows that or not.

If they charge us to park there, we'd better get our $$ worth, I'd say!

    I want to..... Might.....

But 3.5"ish rain in the last couple days, with another 3"ish forescast between now(Tues) and then makes me doubtful.

Maybe hit the steep stuff in Auburn that drains qwik and hit the afterparty, if anything?

If you want to lead the ride, post the deets. There's still time for an audible.

Many of us have ridden Olmstead Loop like a mail carrier. Neither snow (2006) nor rain (always during the race) nor heat (summer) nor gloom of night (24hour) stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
