Here's an opportunity to get involved with trail related issues at China Camp. This event was posted on a MeetUp page for mountain biking in Marin.

It is very important that mountain bikers attend this meeting. This is not a local park but a State park used by thousands of us from all over the Bay Area. We need representation to be treated equally and our absence from the table has left us paying more per use than hikers.

New thinking by many agencies from the Mtb advocacy work over the years needs to go into new situations when they are set up or you end up fighting pointlessly for years with no benefit. Been there, done that.

    Show up.

FWIW, after attending the California State Parks Foundation's "Park Advocacy Day" last week, I exchanged emails with the new Director of State Parks about a couple things. In his response to me, he wrote:

"By the way, although I do not mountain bike, I support mountain biking, where appropriate in State Parks. While in Marin County last week, I learned even more about the Mt. Bikers contribution to our parks."
    - Maj. Gen. Anthony Jackson, Director, California State Parks and Recreation

He visited China Camp on March 8th

So kudos to MCBC and FOCC for making a great first impression with this very impressive person!

Keep up the good work and take an active role in your local advocacy issues... show up at these public meetings, meet with your congressional representatives... it all matters!
