One place you can purchase a state park's pass is at the ranger's station at Auburn State Recreation Area. If you are heading into the Confluence area the ranger's station is on your left. If you purchase the pass locally the money stays local. At least that is what we have been told. you can also purchase them on line.

Heard the same about buying at the ranger station. I get mine from the Salmon Falls parking lot where the rangers are posted during high rafting times. So worth the money if you get out often.

Damn that isn't cheap. So much for taxes. Plus, why can't there be one for all parks and they figure out how to share. In SoCal there the Adventure Pass for forest, OC Parks Pass, and up her the Poppy Pass. Why not one pass for all parks in CA and they split the revenue . . .

There's the regular parks pass for $195 that includes almost all the parks. The Poppy Pass is good for all the places I ride in the Sac Area.

Volunteer 20 hours with FATRAC (or State Parks) and get a "free" annual Poppy Pass.

You can get one from the kiosks set up at Salmon Falls, Upper and lower Clementine and the Rangers stations. Or at least that is what the Ranger told me Thursday.
