Rode today (12/8). Not as muddy as you would expect. Leaves have done a good job of covering most of the trails. But a lot of downed trees and debris on the trails. 3-4 consecutive trees down on Mossy Rock making it really hard to get by. A few Manzanitas down on Manzantita. At least two trees down on The Connector. So don't expect to set any speed records. FDL probably the best conditions of any trail there.

Could you tell me an approximate location of the downed trees on connector? I'll head out tomorrow morning and clear them...also approximate diameter so I know which saw to bring.

    Thanks

I was out there today as well. The two trees I saw are on the connector, one is right before the bridge and the other is about a mile or two past.. Those tree are pretty big, I would use a chain saw or something simliar... .

Trees are least a foot in diameter. One about 150 yards west of the Connector Bridge. You can see it from the top of the switchback. The other tree is 1.25 miles east of the bridge. With my very limited flexibility they are very difficult to get over. Manzanita and Mossy Rock have been cleared.

    Fantastic, thank you.
I was out there on Thurs. and also came across a trail blocking tree (tbt if you will) toward the end of the FHDL (going ccw) or maybe 1-2 miles from connector going cw. The big trunk portion was not across the trail but rather the top portion of branches ranging from 2-6" thick. I cleared the loose debris off the trail, but the tree branches were to much for my weak self to try and snap. I really need to invest in one of those trail saws. You hear that Santa?

are you the guy on the banshee riding with the chainsaw?

    if so, another thanks!

conditions were really nice out. tiny bit slick on some parts of connector, but the whole loop was in fantastic shape. Surprisingly.
