Did the grasshopper today. No pics because it is technically supposed to be a race, but beautiful day out other than a lot of ice on the roads and trails that resulted in a few pile ups.
This is kind of a magical time since the 60s feel like 70s to our acclimated bodies. The ground is firm but forgiving. The nasty oak and insects are in hiding too.
Saturday was incredible. Haven't ridden in a couple months because I felt I could use time away from the bike and late December had great powder. Well, a long ride in the Santa Cruz area was just what I needed. I was able to clear my mind of some work drama, ran into so many smiling faces and some great trail conditions. The mrs gave me wide bars and a high roller rear tire for Xmas. What had I been waiting for with the wide bar, really liked it. I left the big bike at home and made it an all mountain day. Funny thing is I charged the same trails as I would on the big bike, just chose different lines. Such a good day.
Did the BMX loop I used to do as a kid. Ended up being 20mi. which means I was doing 20mi. rides fueled by junk food and drinking fountain water when I was in junior high.
I used to 360 off these stairs. No 360's yesterday, though.
Did 60 miles on the CX bike through San Jose, Cupertino, Palo Alto, wood side, up to skyline and back down 9 into Saratoga. Amazing day to be out side on the bike. Clear as a bell onto of 35, you could see 1 and people on the coast.
