Downhill, MTB race's come to Auburn 2008

I have taken my American river adventure race date's and changed them to MTB races.
The race dates are as follows, June 7th, July 26th and August 30th. These dates are not in stone just yet. They may stay the same, but the State and I must work some things out.
I will have the dates set after thrusday evening. One of the events will be a great big Downhill event at Mammoth Bar OHV area. The other two dates will be two MTB cross country races.
The two MTB races will be in area's that have never had races before. I can not give you more on the placement of the course till I have it all together.
One of which has a 18 mile downhill and a very hard three mile climb out."The Superman" course. You must best be at the top of your game for this one. This race course has a little Downieville in it, but the climbing is after the downhill and you must be in alittle better shape. Don't get me wrong, the downhill has some climbing in it also and is not all downhill. One of the MTB races will be 100% non-profit and go to a great cause.
These are all non- NORBA events with very low race fee's. There will more information in about a week at www.globalbiorhythmevents.com

These are going on my calendar for next year. No more NORBA, just the races I want to do now.

    Wrong !!

Wrong, not even close. Like Ned Overend said to this young guy who was talking about the course having to much climbing in it. Ned was 48 at the time" If there is too much climbing for you then get a horse".

    Not even close?

now you have piqued my interest. Guess I'll have to wait for official news.

The only other climb that long that I can think of is from Ruck A Chuck? If that is the case then we are talking about some sweet 18 miles before you get to that death march out of the canyon.

    You could be right?

After a three hour meeting this evening, the state parks and I have work a few thinks out.
The Downhill event is set for June 7th at Mammoth bar. Details to come soon.
The other two cross country dates are July 26th and August 30th.
I may change the August date as the Tahoe-Sierra 100 is Sept 5-7th.
    May be mid to August.
We talked about the nice "superman" course and there are a few things to work out with some other people that will be putting up a good fight about the race having the event, but the State has the last say on that. I have some meetings with the "others that will be trying to stop the event" next week.
I have been told there will be no more events in the Auburn State parks area. My events are the last to go on within the state park for a while till they get more money. No more horse events or ultra running events. They will keep the events that they have on the calender up till Dec 31st 2007 after thqat there will be no more events added
The www.globalbiorhythmevents.com web will be up dated in the next week on the events.

New question here. Foresthill to Drivers Flat?

Foresthill to Drivers Flat just happens to be 18 miles. But, the climb from Ruck O Chucky up to Drivers Flat is only about 2.5 miles....guess we'll have to wait and see...

    Ok

so now I am getting some sense of things....

18 miles of rugged "downhill" (as fun and more difficult than downieville) and then slogging up to drivers flat in the mid summer heat.

    superman indeed!

you will need about a dozen aid stations between DF and ruck a chuck

you can count me in for that race

jimmy, let me know if you need some volunteer help for the downhill race.

gotta luv that Ruck a Chuck climb... very character building, especially on the single. brilliant finish for an xc course Jim, me likey Maybe you could arrange to have a fleet of raft pickup vans to pass riders periodically on the dusty washboard climb, for added effect

    We will see?

I have a few people to fight to get this to happen. It's at around 80% chance right now. Let you know after the other meetings with the WS foundation. I will be giving them a very large non-profit Donation.
