Idea! Don't forget yer pets, NorCal

Damn, it's warm. Are your pets cool, with cool water available? My dog loves ice cubes in her H20, and I keep the water in her outside dish constantly dripping so it's a little better than tepid.

And while she begs to go on car rides, I gotta say no when I'm parking the car somewhere for over a minute. Even if there's shade, it's a dicey choice.

Plenty of shade around the house for the dog to access? Don't walk your dog on hot asphalt!

Did I mention don't walk your dog on hot asphalt? People are sometimes unaware of how hot the parking lots can be. Just ask James Nelson.

    Thanks ad invance.

We bought a kids wading pool for our Jack Russells. They absolutely LOVE it. When they're done, I put a beach towel down on the patio and tell my female that she has to dry herself off before she can come in the house. She actually does it. That may be the funniest thing I've seen.

careful with ice cubes in the water dish, pets can choke on them. crushed ice is a better alternative.

I usually add water to my dogs food so he starts the day hydrated.

For sure. And the greatest tragedy of em all.... kids. But many younginss die every year because left by a parent in the morning as they walk in to the office. I would think the whole family unit would be scarred/damaged for life as well.

yea. he has very light eyelids. we sunburned his ass big time when we first got him.

vets orders, tattoo pigment on his eyelids or Goggles. we trained him for goggles to save him the horrors of living out life looking like an Egyptian pharaoh.

we put sunscreen on his face. he is almost bald on his nose.

I've tried sunscreen on Abby's nose, but it bugs her and she licks it off and that's not good for her.

Reminds me of the guy I saw at the phone store with tattooed eyebrows. *shudder* I hope I never have to see that again.

We have a “Lixit” in the backyard on a hose bib. Our dog loves it. Water is always cold and delish. Zero effort. Genius.

Ha! I haven't thought about those in years. We had them for our dogs back in the late 60s, early 70s.

    Are those Rex Specs?

Thinking about getting some for my Australian Kelpie. Doesn’t have a predatory bone in his body, but he likes to chase geese. Which, it turns out, don’t like to be chased sometimes.

They are! We tried a few, and these are the only ones that stayed put on an active dog.
