    Upset Disturbing Trend

Every ride I have been on in the last few weeks, I have encountered people just parking on the trail. This is single track im talking about. They just take a break on the trail. Their bikes just laying right there. I didnt think it was too hard to actually take one step to the right or left.
If you do this, please stop it. Thank you.

Is it a trend or maybe it's just hot and riders are cooked and carelessly laying their bikes down.

'Pardon me, pardon me, comin thru!' With some bell tingalings (can I say that here) usually does the trick just fine. Next time they stop they will hopefully be more aware from your gentle positive reinforcement of the glaringly obvious.

I dunno, the bike market is strong.
People need a reason to go get a new piece.

Laying a bike ON the trail means only one thing. PLEASE anybody ? RUN my bike over and crack that sh#t up good so I gotsta tell the ol Lady it's broke beyond repair !!

It's just a lack of consideration. Many people go through life not knowing or not caring how their actions impact others. This is just another example of it.

You'd think but that hasn't been my experience. More like: I'll just park my ass in the middle of the trail again and if anyone wants to get by they'll dingle the dangle bells like last time

With some it's a spatial awareness thing. With other's is a general lack of courtesy. These are learned traits that your mommy and or daddy should have taught you.. Sometime around when you were getting your first participation trophy.

    This ^^

It's a new man made feature.

If you use the rear wheel as a ramp and get extra air, you get bonus points.

If you come ripping through and bunny hop their bike, they should figure it out.

Or worse they leave it running with occupants in it for the 90 minutes they are shopping with the AC on. Stupid. I think there's a law against that in New York...but then that's a stupid law...and Pops always taught me two stupids don't make a right...or something like that.

A more technical area of trail would have presented riders with needing more focus. Those doers might have wanted the extra thrill though.... lol

I get it. When you're on the trail, it's your trail. You do what ever you want, where ever you want. **** me for trying to be courteous to others. Sure, in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal. A few seconds of inconvenience, or maybe a crash.

Like skiers and snowboarders all stopped across the trail just where it gets tough trying to get up the guts to go for it. Or snowboarders sitting putting on the boards right where you have to exit the lift. Those darn people!

    Parking lot pedestrians;

I especially enjoy the folks who won't walk across a parking lot driving lane at a 90 degree angle but rather 45 or 60 degrees kind of walking along as if blending or merging with traffic so they expose their danger of getting hit over a longer duration.

These are people with some baseline intellect where they go to a job, earn money then go shopping and are almost smart enough to survive ?

The more you ski or board, the more you come to expect it.
People are not always smart enough for their own good or safety but the best default IMO is not involving innocent parties. If I have to risk hitting someone (crashing) in those situations, it's more likely going to be those blocking or occupying the pathway.

I don't recall a crash but I've left some razor burn from my skis atop some snow boards before.

My solution is to ski on trails where most folks don't go. Though one needs some gaper slalom to get to the lift.
