    Demo + Hiking Herd = ?

Had a really good ride out there today with some Socal buddies, but as we were packing up--around 1:30--there was a group of about 20 hikers headed up Hihn's Road. I really hope they were just sticking to the fireroad (I was tempted to ask), but some of them had hiking poles, so it seemed possible that they might have tried to go up a singletrack. And THAT would be interesting!

    Anybody have an encounter?

Btw- We dropped Corral and checked out the new section. It's gonna be big fun after some rain and a little more work (sign me up).

Wish I could've joined you. I watched my wonderful daughter gracefully perform a magical dance with her troupe for about 2 minutes of pure joy...then proceeded to watch an hour's worth of the crappiest, god awful excuse for dance from a bunch of loser 8 year old wanna be's.

Hitting Demo in the early AM before being honored for being a dad.

As for hikers...I'd say 99% go down Hihns to the picnic benches past Sawpit. They are usually harmless and sometimes hot, with boobies.

Good seeing you out there today. Did you make the rocky section today?

I've come across groups of them recently, as in last year, hiking up Ridge between Corral and Sulfur. That was a very unexpected site and involved hitting the brakes hard. It's so rare to see someone hiking out there.
As I passed I did see them with Ed, the forester, so I figured they were doing something forest related.

As squashy says, usually they just stick to the fireroads. Demo must be a horribly boring place to hike. It's a long haul to any trails, and the sight seeing is pretty miserable. Pretty much every other place in the Bay Area would be a more enjoyable hike IMO.
Those who know, ride a Mojo AND a Mojo HD.

Exactly what my g/f and I were saying over dinner!

Good seeing you out there, too (as usual). And, no, I failed again on the little boulder problem. **kicks dirt**

But I finally did one of the bigger drops on Corral, and I rolled the tall plank-entrance log roll in the middle of Braille for the first time.
