    Daylight Savings

Looks like Daylight Savings time goes into effect next weekend March 12th. Seems like it gets earlier every year, but I am not complaining. An extra hour after work to ride!

Sweet! Morning daylight is largely lost on me.
Friends don't let friends ride e-"bikes" on dirt.

Nature is not a sidewalk (I'm looking at you, MidPen).

Looks out the window at the sun still above the horizon. Do you live just east of a large hill or something?

Nooooooooo! The opposite would be better for folks who like the later sunsets. I'd prefer a bill that kept DST year round.

Yeah i want it year round too.

The bill, as I understand it only gives the state a chance to make dst yr round or modify the dates and times. I believe the end result is to make dst yr round, not take it away. They want to eliminate the mandatory change as the argument is the current method disrupts sleep and is bad for business.

Not sure why we need darkness at 5pm. I hate it, I feel compelled to stay indoors wasting hours away watching tv or something unproductive.

Not trying to be political - just wanted to share the story. I like daylight. Sundown at 9 would be just great. Apparently dark mornings were causing school bus wrecks. I dunno.

The entire country should be one time zone. China made it work. No reason it would not work here.

I think it was originally done to give farmers more daylight to do their work. But seeing how 85% of Cali's population lives and works in urban areas, this makes less and less sense.

Typical of our state legislature to come up with silly bills like this while our infrastructure crumbles.

China is 2,200 miles wide, and there's not a lot of relative population density in western China (*cough* Tibet *cough*). Plus it's easier to get your population to accept unpopular things when the leadership is not subject to removal on a regular basis.

Trump did an executive order to move it so we could ride more.

I don't see the point to this unless the entire country does it.

In fact, the entire country should be on the same time. Then, when you fly back from France, that day does not seem like a 32 hr day.

In fact, all of North American should be on the same time.

In fact, all of the world should be on the same time

In fact, all of the entire world should be on 24 hr time. None of this 12 am or pm.

I can't believe that the state legislature is once again considering abolishing DST. It is one of my favorite things when we get that extra hour of daylight! They should stick to doing real good things for the state like high speed rail and stay away from riding time!
