Cool housing in South Lake Tahoe?

Hi fat tire family, anyone have a recommendation for a cool place to stay in or near South Lake? The rental websites come up with only giant homes. It's just the two of us so want a little cabin in the woods or similar.

It's a BIG birthday for me and my sweetie wants to treat me to a fab trail weekend. Thanks for any leads!

Try reno.craiglist.org. reno vacation rentals classifieds "cabin" - craigslist

There are a lot of smaller places available.

No leads on cabins, but I've had a great experience at the Alder Inn. Quiet, cozy, and very nice. The Tripadvisor ratings don't lie #1 in South Tahoe for a reason.

We always do a VRBO of a privately owned condo from this place. I LOVE it.

Lots of small cabins available in SLT, especially in the Bijou area. I know, because we've been looking for a larger one to rent, but keep finding smaller cabins.

Check VRBO, FlipKey, airbnb, several others. Lots for around 125/night. Expect old 70s interiors

Check out Air BnB. My gf and I recently stayed at an awesome inlaw style place that the homeowner had built and connected to his place. Great people, perfect location and reasonable rate. We rode from the house and were at the trails pretty quick - Powerline and Van Sickle were a few minutes away.

Do a quick search under South Lake. You'll find a ton, like this:

Cool housing in South Lake Tahoe?

I like to stay at embassy suits, great big free breakfast and a two hour happy hour every night that's free for guest, so for just two its perfect. They are also bike friendly and a few of the staff are riders themselves with local knowledge. It's also just a short spin to Powerlines trail and TRT is right up the hill and u can catch a bus next door that will take u right up to stagecoach trail head. It's not a bad choice if u want to walk to night life either!
