Any word on CCCX 2013 race schedule? They usually post a tentative schedule on their website.. Does anyone know?

2013 CCCX Road races have been posted.

I heard a rumor the first XC race could be possibly be on the last weekend of January or the first weekend of February. First Road race is February 2nd leaving the 3rd open.

Really there's no telling until they publish it

I was chatting with Keith DeFiebre at the Sections CX race on Sunday and he said they were going to be having their first mtb race on January 27, which unfortunately, is also the same day as the Peak Season (aka "Santa Cruz County Championships") cx race. But, as always with the CCCX guys, things can change.

Looks like we have a tentative schedule. Let me be clear, having raced this for a couple years now, be open to schedule changes and try to take it easy out there and just have fun.

Expect the first race to have all the experts in Sport, all the sports in beginner, etc. so no being mad because of it -- thats just racing and people feeling themselves out early in the season!

I kinda disagree. If you sucked at sport, considering beginner might be worth while. If you rocked beginner, get your sorry ass up to sport.

I've done SOC both beginner (geared) and sport (SS). I sucked at one of those two, though am stronger now. I'll probably do a couple CCCX races using the SS to guage where I am at by first racing beginner. If I feel the need to, I will upgrade. I don't believe in (tea) sand bagging.

I was Cat 2 last year and even though I wasn't a threat to win, I upgraded to Cat 1. I am in no where near the shape I was last year and the only "feeling out" I am doing is my love handles. No sandbagging here kids! Going to get my ass handed to me for much of the season and I am totally alright with it. Come on kids, drink the cool aid and join me won't you?

Are you the only person in your group who has had a bithday this year? Sport to expert is a huge jump, be prepared to get smoked! Don't let it discourage you the 2nd season of racing expert gets much better. Also, there is much more pride to be racing expert and finishing in the rear of the pack, than podiuming two or more seasons in a row! Racing Sport

I'll be there too. Staying in sport and racing 55+ this year. In all the years of racing CCCX I have received all of one fourth place medal. I hope to add to that collection this year. I think Menso will join me a few times, just like the old days when the Juniors and Beginners raced at the same time. Jan 27 is his birthday. Let's celebrate in style!
