Break-ins at Rincon
Keep an eye out....
(At least) two break-ins at the Rincon parking lot over the weekend.
One Sat. morning and one yesterday afternoon.
I saw the second victims when they got back to their car. Evidently they had left a purse in the car, but covered it with a jacket. The trouble is that the perpetrator can be sitting in his car watching and when he sees women leave without a purse, he probably has a good idea that they left it in the car. Or he could be watching them hide it.
I try to take note of people just sitting in their cars, sometimes even noting their license plate number, just in case.
Anyway, low-traffic days like yesterday with less people coming and going present more opportunities. It really stinks.
The one amusing part of yesterday's smash-and-grab was when the Santa Cruz County sheriff asked her what part of the "Don't leave valuables in your car" sign, that she parked right next to, didn't she understand.
