    Bravo Tahoe National Forest Volunteers!

Bravo BONC and US Forest Service! Volunteers did an outstanding job constructing a re-route of the Crooked Lakes Trail near Grouse Ridge (east of Nevada City).

Grouse Ridge is one of my favorite places to ride a bike. Anywhere. This re-route makes it an even better experience, as it eliminates an unpleasant hike-a-bike climb/boring downhill. A bunch of friends and I rode the reroute today and everyone admired the work and wonderful views the new section provides.

The trail construction is first rate and the rock work as good as anything I've seen around here. It's my firmly held belief that hand-constructed trails like this provide a *much* better-end product, as opposed to machine-built trails that are all too often uniform and boring.

Let's hope BONC can continue to take the lead on more excellent local trail projects. Thanks again.

Big thanks to everyone involved in this effort!
I look forward to riding your handiwork as well as joining you all in future trail work events.
I'm relatively new to mountain biking but have quickly come to recognize how special the Grouse Ridge area is, both on and off a bike.
