The unlimited hydroplanes have officially added Granite Bay to the 2013 race series. I can remember watching them the last time they were here in 1967 and then seeing it several weeks later on Wide World of Sports. (Yes, I am oldish)

Looks like the only free way to watch will be to walk or ride your bike in. I am glad I am walking distance from the beach. Time to get a trailer for the fat bike.

oops i see you did mention you might have to use a bike to get to the venue which is also a place people ride bikes so I guess this would be the place to post it.

Thats going to be a fun weekend. It sounds like the state park will be locked down to everybody but ticket holders. Access by mtn bike will require knowledge of some special trails.

Funny, I knew the date of the event before I clicked on the link. The end of May is traditionally when Folsom Lake hits its high water mark. June is when it starts dwindling down to a puddle.
