I'm goin to be in the bay area for other reasons and was going to bring my bike........I've never been to Demo and would love to tag along with someone that could show me the good trails? I'm not a strong climber so I'm looking more for flow, jumps, bumps and silly fun! If no-one can ride, please point me where to start and end............
Master of Nothing, but dammit if I don't try..............
Not from what I saw last Thursday, so it should be better now. It never really gets too terrible out there, in my short experience. I rode the day after the enduro race last year and it wasn't horrible.
You got anything other than the DHR? If another big bike is out there, you know I can't resist bringing the Glory. It looks like a few guys are coming down with their DH/FR rigs in late Feb, so I'll let you know about that as it gets closer to see if you'd like to come. I'm guessing we will do a Braille run and then I'll show them something on the way out.
well I'll be on a Turner RFX so I may be able to hang in for big bike trails.......I follow my buddy on his Glory around here and he needs to stop an wait for me every now and again, but it's still a blast.....I'll be in SF downtown sleeping for Saturday night, so keep that in mind for start times if anyone really wants to do this.

I might be up for it as well, been itching to do a Brail run or two on the big bike, but I'll be puhing up.
Middle to late Feb, three NCG guys are coming down to ride, so I'll be sure to let you know once that gets closer and a date is picked. I'm thinking Braille for sure, see how we feel, maybe look at something else on the way back up.
If Stu can't make it, what you want to do is go out of the lot, back onto Highland Way, and take that up. You'll reach 3 intersections on the way.
Since you start on road, the first intersection is with dirt, about a mile or two into it. It's going to go right, at the apex of the road section. There's a Cal-Fire sign there saying something to the effect of "are you ready for fires?". This is the start of Buzzard's Lagoon.
The second intersection is on dirt, on the climb up. You'll go around a turn on the climb. At the apex of the turn there is a branch off to the right. Do not take that, stay left and keep going up through Nisene Marks.
The third intersection is also on dirt, you may see other riders resting there. It's at the apex of a climb, and has a route going right for more climbing. Take that. That will lead you to the very top of Ridge Trail, where you can start. This is the start of the Aptos Creek Fireroad.
The 3 trails to go down. Corral, Braille, and Sawpit. Don't go down Sulphur Springs. That's for climbing back up.
Don't let this map fool you...if you prefer DH, Corral is the ****. Sawpit is more XC as you add substantial climbing and the ST is more "on the ground".
I am also riding Saturday but will be keeping a spin and will likely hit everything the park has to offer.
Actually, just Holland and I are riding Sat it seems. And I am not going to be riding big bike pace...though I will have a big bike.
I've got the Pivot now so I am quicker up though I don't know how much more. Need clipless pedals for going up. Holland and I are nearly the exact same pace but he stops to rest more

ha, yeah, i like to talk to the people at the bottom and top, as well as grab a snack.
Well it looks like I may be going alone.......I'm playing by ear cause I may try and help out at Tamarancho too.........going to see Pinback at Bimbos in SF tomorrow night and the guy I'm staying with rides (bought his bike from a certain site admin) and I'll leave it to him where he wants to go.

have a good time. sorry I couldn't go. Wife wants to do a ride on Sun, so I'm limited.
I think I can swing a Sunday ride.
I'm slow up but I have a LOT of fun down. I enjoy session rides where we stop at features and try to master them.
I propose a 10am start time at the parking lot on Highland way.
Cross over the bridge and park in the large dirt parking lot
I'll post tomorrow to verify.
I was thinking around 10, but I always seem to run late, especially in the morning. I was wondering when Holland was going, especially if he's by himself.
Good thing about Demo is I know the place, so you guys wouldn't have to wait up haha.
