Weather is looking like cloudy, high 40's low 50's in the morning. Sounds like full lycra weather. Says 10% chance of rain, but the forecast will probably change. Just need to figure out what kind of food to bring .

Meeting spot with parking is usually at Summit Bike shop in Los Gatos. Departure time is 8am.

For hikers and riders who want to skip the road climb, they park at the top of Kennedy at 8:30 and take off from there.

Key is to make it to the top and hang out for a couple hours.

BRING ALL THE FOOD AND DRINK THAT YOU CAN SHARE.

This is the greatest bike gathering in the Bay Area and it showcases what's great about the landscape and the people. It is legal and fun because we can have alcohol in midpen as long as there's food (think wine and cheese) and we have a lot of food.

    Who is coming?

Game day decision based on how my ribcage is feeling. I have a 17 hour flight on Saturday so need to be a bit careful.

Weather forecast is partly cloudy and a high of 72 degrees and humid. Even better is low temp for the day is 56 degrees so it won't be freezing in the morning like it typically is.

Take note that the massive Midpen Ranger armada will be there in force as they've been building up their presence every year. There will be at least 20 of them in many trucks and motorcycles and they help bring our garbage down the hill if it's bagged. The ride is allowed since no one organizes it and it just happens. Alcohol is tolerated since beer and wine are in the Midpen rulebook as long as it's accompanied by food. And there's usually a lot of that.

    - need your helmet
    - ride responsibly
    - be safe and do not speed on the downhill.

Also note that this is a family event. Bring your spouse and kids if you can and let them ride or hike up the hill. If they do, they will realize how amazing the mountain bike community is.

If you're going, we should all take off together and ride up. I'm planning on being at the gate (start of the trail) at 8am and ride up at 8:30. Chime in please.

That is fine. Take-off from Summit at 8am or take off from Kennedy trailhead at 8:30.

Folks seem to be leaving earlier and earlier. I'll corral the usual suspects at the trailhead til 8:30

I'm planning to head up early and won't be able to stay too long - early dinner (lunch... ) plans out of town. I'll stick around long enough to share a beer with anyone that's around.

It won't be my first Turkey Day up there, but it'll be my first Turkey Day up there on a bike.

I plan on getting to Kennedy trail head with my toddler at 8. The goal is to stick him in the back pack and Bike him up to the top, Ive not ridden up Kennedy but from topo map looks similar to the demo climb which I think is doable with a 30lb kid/weight.... I have a couple friends join me too, so if anyone is planning to be there around that time I should be noticeable, would be great to meet some folks here.

One question I have, I wanted to park at Kennedy trail head, whatís the chance of there being space at 8? Also, is the meeting spot all the way at the top, by the priest intersection?

It's like Sulphur Springs but twice as long. It's very hard but just walk parts as there will be 1000 folks walking and struggling but happy.

Parking at the top of the road is limited so 7:30 am. But you can go past the peak and create your own spot

What a nice day - hundreds of riders on that trail, I guess that was pretty much everybody owning a bike in the southbay!
Was good seeing you all - now getting the turkey rolling....
Thanks for the rosmarin bread, Bruce - and thanks to all the others for the wine, the beers, the choclate chips, the music....
