    2013 Nor-Cal XC State Championships

This Saturday at Toro Park. Never been. How does it compare to Fort Ord?

Specifically is it as climby as Fort Ord? Anyone suggest gearing up or down for a SS???

Thanks for the intel and good luck if you're going.

    Should be fun!

Toro Park is basically one long fire road climb to the top with a decent downhill all the way to the bottom. The climb is pretty consistent, but never gets crazy steep.

Like ^he said it's a fire road climb, about 2.5 miles, not steep but has a couple steepish bits at the top. They start to feel steep when my heart is getting ready to explode. The descent is about 90% single track and really fun. Its' about 4.5 miles per lap. Overall, it's a fun course and completely different than any of the Ft. Ord layouts.

I'll be there. I'm not a fast climber but love this course. I'll be rep'in Quadzilla in the big man class.

What bright bulb schedules the XC states a week before the Downieville race? We all know which one is more fun, harder, and has a fantasic view.

Wow, I guess I hadn’t been paying attention to the fact that this is sanctioned as a “XC Nationals” event. Surely all the fast dudes will be there… hoping no sandbaggers. See you all tomorrow morning.

Somehow I don't see the connection or conflict between this race and D-ville race.

Hope to stay out of the way of all the fast racers. Four laps and I get to drink some Sculpin!

So, WTF— where were all the fast dudes in the 35-44 Cat2 today??? I was expecting to come in toward the back.
