I have a set of R1 levels + RX calipers combo that came with my bike. The front has been perfect but the rear has had some issues since day one.
The issue was it had too much play and had a spongy feel, so I bled it but the problem continued. I checked the caliper and found that one piston got stuck. The brake finally ran fine after cleaning the pistons with alcohol and bleeding it. It has been running fine since then but today (after about 3 months) I noticed the rear caliper locked up and the brake pads were grabbing the rotor. I felt as if there were too much brake fluid inside the hose, so I drained out some fluid and the caliper opened up.
Is it normal that brake fluid expands inside the hose? I lived in So Cal and it was not that hot these few days.
Do you think it's a defect and would it be covered by Formula's warranty?
