    Yet another adapter question....

    Hey guys,

I'm fed up with my Avid Juicy 5's, so I'm upgrading to Shimano XT, the 785 model. I'm staying with 160mm rotors front & rear. From what I can tell, the calipers are post mount on these brakes. My bike is the Trek Fuel EX7 WSD, & it has IS mounts both front & rear. So are these the adapters that I need?

EDIT: I should probably add that the front fork is a Recon 351.

Front: Shimano F160P/S Disc Brake Adaptor

Rear: Shimano 74mm To 51mm Rear Brake Adapter

    TIA

Is the rear a post mount too? Most rears that I've seen are still IS mount, so you won't need an adapter. If it's post mount on the rear, that one should work. That adapter should work for the front.

Both calipers appear to be post-mount on the 785s, but I'll have to call & confirm that tomorrow.

My Juicy 5 calipers are both post-mounted & need adapters front & rear, so I assumed that it was the norm now?

You could reuse your current Avid adapters, they'll work with the new Shimano brakes.

    * If you do reuse the Avid adapters then don't use the CPS / Tri Align washers that were used with the Juicy, they'll pack the Shimano caliper out too much.

That would be fantastic if that would work.
