    XTR plastic screw to cover the gear cable entry hole in the shifter?

    I lost both my XTR plastic screw to cover the gear cable entry holes in my shifters...does anyone know where to buy those little plastic screws that cover the entrance to where you thread the gear cable through in the shifter? please help!!!

    I believe shimano has been using the same plastic screw on all their shifters for a long time.

    (Kind of completing previous answer)...I would go to the LBS and ask for the parts bin.

    I'm running mine with no screws on one of them, no problems...

    Kind of a ghetto fix...electrical tape can easily cover up the hole. Or just ride without the plugs as bikeman1 suggested; in the 90s, none of the shifters had a plug for the hole where the shifter cable is inserted and they worked just fine.

    I'd just call around to the local shops. When I worked it a shop, we'd keep a bin of odd small parts like that to put on bikes that we were repairing. They might not even charge you.
