Xtr m988, X0 shifter and reverb

I'm currently running X0 brakes, X0 shifters and a reverb lever using the SRAM matchmaker. I want to change out the X0 brakes for the XTR m988 brakes and I can't seem to find a definitive answer as to weather I will be able to get the m988, X0 shifter and reverb to work (Without the matchmaker). I like running my brakes quite a long way inboard, so having the reverb lever even further in isn't really an option as I'd struggle to get to it.

Does anyone else have this combo, and if so could you let me know how you've got yours set up? The alternative is I may change from sram to xtr shifters. Would this work any better?
