XTR Dual Controls with XTR arms feel spongy.Shall Avid arms feel firmer?

I´m running XTR dual controls with XTR brake arms and I think they feel a bit spongy due to the extra linkages allover the system the dual controls carry.I´m not planning to replace the duals with regular levers since I really like the system.Instead I would replace the brake arms with some Avids SD Ti .Anyone recomends this setup in order to get a less spongy feel and maybe better power too?Anyone running this setup? How do you like it?

    Before replacing the V's

    Check the following:
    1. Cable housing and cables aren't frayed (check housing along it's length for cracks).
    2. All bolts are tight and to specs.
    3. Make sure that the modulation screw (I'm assuming that the Dual Controls use the same modulation system as the previous trigger XTR STI) is all the way up which firms up the feel...
