XTR calipers & XT levers? viable option?
I've just picked up (cheap) some M965 xtr disk brake calipers. Would these calipers with XT levers & xt rotors be a viable option for normal xc duty? Would I need any specific parts to get this system working?
Any input much appreciated. (I've checked the review section!)
many thanks (a disk brake novice!)
They will work.
If your levers are 756, then you need BH62/63 hoses
If your levers are 755, then you need BH61 hoses
For XC use they are outstanding. I use an XTR in the front for trailbike duties, and find the 160mm rotor to be a bit lacking for the long downhill runs here on the Front Range (Colorado). However, I lived in Oklahoma previously and the brakes were outstanding stoppers in all conditions there.

I use the756 levers with a 966 front and a 965 in the rear and they work great. I use XO shifters is why I went this route. I have the XTR centerlock rotors and use the XT 8in up front. Love the entire setup, good luck.
