    XT/XTR Cooling Fin pads

I've fitted the finned variety to my calipers to see what they're like, probably total overkill here in the UK anyway but I'm off to Sierra Nevada Spain in Sept so may get some benefit.

Anyway whilst out on the trails I've noticed that there is play in the pads location pin hole to the point that when you hold the brake on you can rock the bike backwards and forwards and watch the pads moving in the caliper,i believe the hole is too large. Just wanted to know if others have found this with theirs or if its just a duff pair of pads ive got installed?

    thanks

I've got the same movement with my XT brakes. I thought about it for a while, and I'm not worried about it at all. They stay put when the pistons clamp.

Perfectly normal, nothing to be worried about.

Remember to remove the mud from the fins if you want to notice any difference

Haha yes indeed theres plenty of that about here atm.

I got them mainly as last time we rode Spain my brakes didnt like the heat, they were Hopes at the time so when I spied these from Shimano I thought id give them a go.

Going to put the standard pads back in for now I think until Spain

    Thankyou for the replies
