    XT or XTR centrelock rotors

I have just got a new wheelset that will be used for racing (XTR, Revo's, 717) and need a new set of rotors, I have heard that the XTR centrelocks are noisier because of the 2 piece design, is this true? I run XT calipers, which one should I go for?

Mine haven't come in yet.. but i heard that the problem arose only when you used xtr rotors with the shimano xtr wheelset, not a customwheel build-up with xtr hubs.

Yeah I read that somewhere as well, I might just get the XTR, are they any lighter than the single piece rotors I wonder?

The problems are with the XTR wheels only. That said I run the XTR wheel setup and have never heard such a noise.

a while back I weighed an XTR splined rotor with the lockring and an XT rotor with the 6 bolts

I can't remember the exact numbers but they were within 3 grams of each other

the braking track is the same

    XTs are 1/2 the price
    no brainer

we also have ran Marta rotors on XTR calipers
    work great

they are a tad lighter than XT

It seems there are no XT rotors in stock anywhere in the UK so I've had to order the XTR's, seeing as I'm racing this Sunday. I have also been using Marta 6 bolt on my other wheelset and they work fine, I think they look better than the XT 6 bolt too.
