    XT M-785 Leaking Caliper

    Hi everybody,

I did notice a leak this morning. I do have Goodridge hose installed. So the leak is not on the hose or banjo as described in other thread.

The leak appears in the middle of the caliper (where its left part and right part joins).

Can it be that the banjo bolt is not tight enough ?

    Any help welcomed !

EDIT: Seems this thread will help me

m785 caliper body leaking (not piston, nor banjo) - is it dead.

    Thanks.

I don't have M785, but do have several pairs of Shimano disc brakes and have had this issue. There is a small o-ring in between the halves that seals the 2 sides. I can't remember if it's a buona #006 (I think it is, but I also ordered #007 in same order). once you remove both bolts and split the caliper, you will see the o-ring. The fist time it happened I went to my local Ace Hardware and matched it up. The next time, I ordered from allorings.com since it was much cheaper in a larger order (I needed other orings too). As long as the pistons are not leaking, you should be good.
