New question here. Wondering if I could use Sintered pads on Tektro Lyra disc brakes.

I owe a Diamondback response and I love the disc brakes on them. So early in the year I wanted to purchase a road bike but with disc brakes.

And with my budget I purchased a Gravity Liberty CXD cyclocross bike from BikesDirect.com. For what I paid I do enjoy the bike other then the brakes.

They have Tektro Lyra disc brakes and they do not stop the way I think they should compared my diamondback they are bad. I purchased a good rotor and no difference. I was thinking of getting different pads for them to see if that makes a difference. Would anyone know if Sintered Pads would work? they look similar in shape and size. I figured this would be the cheapest way to help them work better. Or should I just replace the calipers and go for a better mechanical system?

    Thank you for your time,
    Mike

Still would like input on whether or not the pads will work. But I believe I may just get the Avid BB7 brakes 180mm from these Tektro Lyra 160mm.

    Thanks again everyone.

In my experience, switching to sintered pads doesn't really improve performance. They're more consistent and quieter when wet, and last longer, but don't bite any better than organic pads.

    Sent from a boring meeting.

Do you think it is the caliper that is causing the weak performance?
