    who uses brake boosters?

just wondering how everyone felt about brake boosters?
i've used them for what must be getting on ten years now and trying to convince others to use them never hardly ever works, but on a XC frame the braking is noticeible better.

    what does everyone else think?

    When I had rim brakes . . .

I used boosters. I used them with cantis, Magura hydros, XT-Vs, and Avid-Vs. The brake boosters made a noticeable difference in power, especially on the rear. All frames will have some flex on the seat stays, but some are much worse than others. So much so, that you can actually pull the lever all the way to the bar, regardless of how close you have the pads adjusted to the rim.

If I had to go back to rim brakes (hopefully, that will never happen!), the first thing I would do is put a booster on.

    Hope this helps.

Had to do it on my Ti hardtail... it got to the point that there was so much flex that i was almost pulling the brake back to the bar.

I used them a bit. It made a bit of a difference. Although not much on my Marin slalom hardtail because the chainstays were huuuge.

Depends on the bike...only seen a use on the rear.

Never had an issue with the front mounts but my i-drive rears flexed a ton. Adding a booster to the rear evened up the braking feel nicely.

I currently use them one great success on the rear of my 853 hardtail, definitely noticable. My AL SS, on the other hand has a much stiffer stays and I didn't notice a difference so I don't carry around the extra weight. Until I went disc, I also used it one on my 2000 Mars C and although it didn't do too much for braking I think it stiffened the fork up a bit.
