Where to find a Shimano Carbon Brake Booster?

Just wanted to see if anyone out there knows where I can find a Shimano carbon brake booster. I don't even know if they make these things anymore. Maybe someone has one collecting dust in their basment. I just built up a Sugar and because the seat stays do not have a bridge joining the two, the seat stays flex like crazy when my v brakes are applied. Thanks...

    DeeEight,

Those look pretty nice. How much are you selling them? Any idea how much they weigh?

    Thx...

Carefull! I would not put a Shimano Carbon brake booster on the Suger until you've checked the clearance first. We put one on an early Suger (non-Plus) and at full suspension compression, the top of the brake booster will hit the seat tube. Put a nice little dent there. We replaced it with a cheap low profile Tektro brake booster, and it just clears, and still improves the rear brake feel.

    Cheers,

    Tom

I didn't even think about that Tom. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check the clearance tonight.

Eric: I'll email you once I know that it'll work. Thanks!

$25US per booster and yes, do check how much clearance you have. I've had that problem with Amp B3s.

DeeEight: Can you tell me what your brake boosters measure in height? I will be running a 2.1 tire on the back so the smaller version would probably be OK.

    Thanks...

the tire clearance is actually identical. The wider one is for cantilever brakes (as they tend to require more room to swing the pads clear when removing the wheel), and as to height, 5.6" overall length, and 5.2" from center of brake bolt slot to top.
