Just curious
I have Shimano M525 disc brakes on my bike.
My son has M485's on his.

Minor appearances apart the calipers look very similar , The reservoir on the M585 is longer and rectangular and the M525 is the typical triangular shape.

Any body know what the technical differences are in the two brake sytems?

Interestingly the M485 complete system is cheaper on Chain reaction than the M525 system.

The Shimano web site does not offer any information.

Also, My mate has older XT master cylinders and reservoirs on his Specialized Enduro which look identical to my M525's except for the silver colour - what gives?
I can only assume the material they are manufactured from is different [lighter?] as externally they are identical
