What does the servo wave lever do?

What does having the servo wave lever do to a brake system? Does it make it apply stronger power, or better modulation (or the other way around)?

What would be the pros/cons of this levers vs standard ones?

Well, I think that only shimano has them, and on XT/SLX, I don't know about the new XTR, but I think that previous XTR didn't have them.

The servo wave is supposed to boost brake power, quicker engagement. XTR never had Servo wave. It added weight. XTR is all about weight.

Here is a good thread on the new XTR brakes. I posted there a few times explaining things. Read through it.

Are my XTR Trails ever going to wake up?
