    Vertical drop out ( disc mounts )

    Can any body explain why the upper mount had a 45 deg. downward slope ?



    shouldnt it be just vertical like the bottom mount ? How do the pads remain in alignment on the rotor arc while the bottom of the caliper is gong straight backwards and the upper section slopes down ?

    Methinks that is because the caliper does not always need to intersect the plane of the rotor in the same spot.

    An interesting solution, and visually striking at that.

    The bottom mount is not parallel to the dropout slot, either.

    The slots move the caliper in an arc and keep it in the proper relationship to the hub axle.
