New question here. V-break Help, Simple question

Yeah Iím new to this so donít laugh! I took my V-break shoes off the other day to check the wear and I think they have been on backwards. They donít have lines on them to indicate the direction of the tire rotation so they could possibly go on either direction. So does the shoe labeled R go on the right if Iím seated on the saddle or on the right if Iím standing in front of the bike facing the fork?

right side as seated on the bike
I used to ride to Win ... Now I ride to Grin

While my guitar gently weeps, my bike sits there mocking me
