    V-brakes for new ride...

    I'm building up a Marin '95 frame on a pretty tight budget - $350

My current bke, a trek 3700 has tektro brakes, which give me constant problems and are probably the most problematic component on the bike - and since the bike is pretty cheap (but fun ) that is saying a lot...

so I saw them at the store (Helen's Cycles SM) and they sell for $12.00... I don't want to throw away any money on those brakes, so does anybody have any suggestions for a set of V-brakes that won't cost me over 25?

    thanks in advance

are you saying you don't want to spend more than $25 total, or more than $25 per brake?
if you don't want to spend more than $25 per brake, you can pick up some old Avid SD-7's from pricepoint.
