    V-brake pad conditioning?

Any trials riders out there?, I've read somewhere of bikers spraying a belt conditioner on their v-brake pads. I've seen CRC Belt Grip (used to reduce slippage of eg. fan belts in car engines) in my local auto shop.

Anyone ever tried it?, does it brake suddenly or with very little modulation?

I haven't done that, but Belt Grip would certainly soften a black brake pad. My bet is that would make the pad pretty darn grippy. Since I ride XC and have to use my brakes a lot on long, scary downhills (that make the streamers on my bars flutter), I don't have reason to try such stuff...might be good for those trials nuts, though.
