    V Brake help

New guy here. I've been lurking here lately. This is a great resource for a new rider.
Looking for some help here. Is it possilble to improve modulation by adjusting V brakes?
My current set-up has Tektro brakes , Koolstop mtb pads, and Shimano EF 50 levers.
Am I asking too much here ? They seem to be all or nothing in the grab department.

Many shimano brake levers have an adjustment, might be where you want to search for a manual...

My suggestion is a new set of brake levers. Avid Speed Dial 7 levers are only like $20 and have speed dial adjustment, which is their proprietary leverage adjustment knob. The more leverage you have the more modulation you can setup for your brakes. Higher end Shimano levers also have this adjustment on the underside of the lever body I think, but I don't know about your shifter/lever combo. If you are willing to get standalone shiters I would suggest new levers.
