Using Marta wavy rotor with Shimano m-975 calipers

    Hi all!

I just installed my new XTR m-975 front brakeset on my bike. However, the front rotor is not XTR, but the old one that I used with my Magura Marta set (Marta Wavy). XTR caliper pads are brand new, but brake performance sucks, it has never fully stop the wheel.

I have no idea if it is due to incompatiblity between marta rotor and xtr calipers (or pads). Should I really change my rotors?

If yes, which rotor should I buy? (my hubs are not centerlock compatible).

    Thanks so much!

have you given them time to break in? sanded the shiny stuff off of the pads? give it some time.

No, just installed and ridden 2-3 times. Pads still look like brand new. Better I give some more time, I guess. Thanks so much.

You should run them through a bedding in process.

you could speed the process up by sanding the top layer off the pads- it does wonders.
