    Trek frame + Hayes Brakes

I recently picked up a NOS Trek frame. I thought I would be able to use discs on this frame but there's no fitting on the back stay. However, there is a fitting on the left chain stay. I thought this was for a kickstand but someone informed me that this was for use with Hays brakes.

    This picture shows the fitting:

if it is for disc brakes, how do I use it? I have not seen ANY Trek bikes using this fitting for disc brakes. Nor have I seen any mention of an adapter.

    Thanks for any help!

Just make sure that whatever disc you buy fits in that triangle. You might find it's a tight or impossible fit with some discs.

There are two brakes that come in chainstay 22mm mount:

    Hayes HFX Mag XC G1.

    Hope C2.
