Tektro Auriga Pro contact area problem (overlap)

As stated in the title, I have a Tektro Auriga Pro (160mm) hydraulic brake system with stock rotors on a Surly Karate Monkey (2013).

The brake pads contact the rotor flush to the outer edge, and yet the pads overhang the inner contact area by about 3mm.

This is an issue due to the fact the the pads strike the rotor spokes 8 times per revolution, causing a slight ringing and pulsation upon depressing the brake trigger.

What would be a possible fix to this issue? Would the best fix be to grind the brake pads on the inner edge of their contact area to remove any chance of the overhang? Should I just space the brake away from the mount and just know that I have an unused portion of the pad hanging over the outer edge of the rotor? Should I get new rotors?
